A Rajaka caste woman named Podina conceives a child by a man named Anagihami. To prevent the child from not having a father, she cheats and marries a nonjal named Nambu Henaya who lived in the village. Their child is Baby Henaya.
Podina’s father Veerappuli Henaya and her mother Malma Ridhi leave to go on a pilgrimage to Anuradhapura. After they left, Heing Ridhi, her sister, had an affair with a villager named Babanis and ran away from home.
