Our houses were in Kandy Hantan. In the Hantana scheme. It’s a nice housing scheme. In those days, I was at home after finishing high school. My brother has gone to work. Dad has also gone to Colombo. Mother has gone to her grandmother’s house. The two younger brothers have gone to school. I was the only one at home. It was about ten in the morning. I took a shower in the morning without feeling cold. For having nothing to do. Bathed came downstairs, made some tea and walked around the yard. It is very healthy after taking a bath in the morning and being in the sun. I was looking at the Japanese buds just about to bloom. All of a sudden, a twenty-five to thirty-year-old boy came running along the Hantana scheme. The boy, who was wearing a white shirt over blue jeans, came running at an amazing speed. The scheme has ended near our homes. The boy looked around and immediately jumped from the not so high wall. I couldn’t think of anything.
